Hiya! It's my second What I Ate Wednesday. This week has been so hot (finally we have summer!) and I've been out and about and wearing my dresses to make the most of it.
On Saturday, it was my Dad's birthday. It was his 21st birthday!!Hehe. Forever 21, forever young, you know what I mean. LOL! I took him to Burger and Lobster in Soho for a birthday lunch. We both had the whole lobster with the lemon butter garlic sauce. He had his grilled and I had mine steamed because last time when I had it grilled, it gave me a sore throat and made my voice go all husky. Strange huh? We proper dug into it, I mean you have to get your hands dirty to enjoy this lol. The salad is much better than the ones in Big Easy, they added some parmesan cheese which gave it a good salty taste. The lemon butter garlic sauce was really good too. For drinks, I had grapefruit passion fruit soft drink and my Dad had raspberry soft drink, both made by the restaurant themselves. The drinks were perfect for the hot weather.
Since Burger and Lobster was opposite China Town, of course we would go to bakeries to get some buns and tarts. Before going to the bakeries, we felt like having bubble tea and so went to Bobo Jam but we ended up having some proper Chinese summery dessert.
I had some grass jelly with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries.
My dad had some coconut ice smoothie with some red bean and ice cream. Both of them weren't that great.
Last week, I've had quite a lot of water melon. The best fruit to have in the hot weather. I have also been making a lot of watermelon smoothies/juice. One of them was detoxing smoothie made with strawberries, watermelon, lime juice of half a lime and some baobab powder.
I also tried with some ginger and lemon juice. This was very refreshing. The ginger gave it a bit of a kick.
I tried tomatoes and watermelon. This was best out of the 3 I tried.
I haven't had pancakes in a while, so I made some chickpea pancake. I added a scoop of hemp protein powder, blended the batter with a banana. Fried the pancakes with coconut oil, and it smelt so good. I served it with some butter and agave nectar syrup.
That's it for now. Thanks for reading.
